“Take the Guess Work Out of Training Preparedness, Programming and Performance Readiness”
The Horyzen Anatomical Assessment includes anthro-musculoskeletal and body composition measurement to facilitate physical capacity, optimization of athletic and sports performance and injury risk mitigation service delivery model that is unique to the high performance industry globally.
Our
Story
Horyzen Performance was created for strength and conditioning coaches, high Performance practitioners and the health and fitness industry professionals to improve on standard body composition measurement techniques with a view to determining optimal lean body mass for performance and injury risk mitigation using an evidence-based practice approach to the integration of anatomical and body composition profiling.
Key to the establishment of the Horyzen Performance was a genuine desire to develop a valid, reliable, accurate and logistically deliverable method of body composition measurement to meet the needs of the athletes, coaches, and performance professionals.
With that goal in mind, the Horyzen Anatomical Assessment method and workshop series was established to provide coaches, health and fitness professionals, allied health practitioners, clinicians, and therapists with an unprecedented method of determining optimal body composition to support health outcomes, facilitate performance and mitigate injury risk for athletes and clients.

Skeletal Ratios as predictors of performance including Shoulder-Hip Ratio (SHR), Biiliocristal (Hip) measurement.
-
Comparison with normative data regarding muscle mass values according to the skeletal characteristics.
-
Maximal hypertrophy potential for each individual athlete
-
Recommendations regarding optimal muscle mass for individual athlete performance and injury risk mitigation.
-
Staff Training (Optional)
The Level 1 Horyzen Anatomical Assessment Foundations Course is designed for strength and conditioning coaches, exercise physiologists, physiotherapists, dietitians, personal trainers and other allied health and medical professionals with an interest in the theoretical and practical application of establishing skeletal structure, body composition and lean body mass development potential for athletes.
The 1-day (8 hour) HORYZEN ANATOMICAL ASSESSMENT workshop includes a comprehensive overview of muscle anatomy, body composition and musculoskeletal profiling, anatomical body composition profiling. Participants will learn to:
-
Measure an individual’s skin-folds & girths
-
Calculate an individual’s % body fat
-
Determine an individual’s Horyzen Anatomical Assessment profile
-
Establish individual Muscle:Bone ratio for lean body mass projections and injury risk mitigation profiles
-
Develop an Horyzen Anatomical Assessment report for coaches, clients, athletes and fitness professionals
The Horyzen Anatomical Assessment method of 5 Way Fractionation and Muscle-to-Bone Ratio
The Horyzen Anatomical Assessment Method incorporates 5-Way Fractionation to establish muscle to bone ratio to improve performance, mitigate risk of injury, and for purposes of talent identification.
This unique method considers the the five anatomically-defined tissues in the body:
-
Adipose tissue
-
Muscle
-
Viscera & organs (residual)
-
Skeleton
-
Skin.
The muscle to bone ratio behaves in a normal gaussian fashion, with clear cutoff points for high and low ends of individual muscle mass development to:
-
Determine the maximal muscle mass carrying capability of the athlete
-
Establish an optimal muscle to bone ratio for each athlete
-
Identify and mitigate Injury Risk
-
Incorporate skeletal ratios as predictors of performance
-
Provide a guide to maximal hypertrophy potential (natural)
-
Report ideal amount of muscle mass for each sport, playing position, and each skeleton.
